Modelling of the influence of residual gravity on the segregation in directional solidification under microgravity
The impact of typical microgravity conditions on the solid segregation of four technologically relevant materials is discussed here on the basis of a wide virtual Bridgman growth campaign. Constant gravity levels as well as harmonic jitters are used in the analyses of the resulting 2D solid dopant patterns. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
