Growth and spectral properties of Er3+/Yb3+-codoped Sr3Y(BO3)(3) crystal
Er3+/Yb3+:Sr3Y(BO3)(3) crystal with dimension of phi 20 x 30 mm(3) has been grown by the Czochralski method. The absorption band at 980 nm has an absorption coefficient 11.7 cm(-1) and FWHM of 11 nm. The emission band at 1450-1650 nm corresponding to I-4(13/2) -> I-4(15/2) transition of Er3+ was observed under 977 nm exciting. The fluorescence lifetime of the upper I-4(13/2) level of Er3+ in Er3+/Yb3+:(SrY)-Y-3(BO3)(3) crystal was 700 ps at 300 K. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
