Crystal growth and spectroscopic characterizations of pure and Nd3+-doped Cd3Y(BO3)(3) crystals
Pure and Nd3+-doped Cd3Y(BO3)(3) crystals with sizes up to 20 mm were grown from a Li6B4O9 solvent system by using the top seeded solution growth method. The second harmonic generation coefficients of the crystals were measured to be about two times larger than that of KH2PO4 (KDP). The Absorption spectra were measured and the absorption peaks were assigned. The emission spectrum of Nd3+:Cd3Y(BO3)(3) crystal was obtained under an excitation of 808 nm. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
