Growth, optical, thermal and mechanical studies of methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate single crystals
Bulk, single crystals of methyl 4-hydroxy benzoate have been successfully grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. The grown crystals have been subjected to spectroscopic studies like FT-IR and FT-Raman. The hardness of the crystal was measured by Vicker's microhardness tester. The lattice parameters have been calculated by X-ray diffraction technique and the values are in good agreement with the reported JCPDS file. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
