Growth and spectroscopic properties of Nd3+: LaCa4O(BO3)(3) crystals
This paper reports the growth and spectral properties of Nd3+:LaCa4O(BO3)(3). Large crystals of Nd3+:Ca4LaO(BO3)(3) with dimension phi30 x 40 mm(2) and few cleave were grown by the Czochralski method. The absorption cross section sigma(a) is 1.32 x 10(-19)cm(2) at 812 nm. The absorption transition at 812 nm has an FWHM of 21 nm, the radiative lifetime is 65.5 mus and the emission cross section at 1060 nm wavelength is 1.48 x 10(-19) cm(2).
