The effects of the acoustic field on droplet extinction processes
This work analyses the effect of an acoustic field on the extinction process of droplets combustion. To couple the chemical reaction and the acoustic processes it is assumed that the amplitude of the ambient acoustic temperature is of the order of the inverse of the Zel'dovich number. The results show that the droplet combustion extinction time depends on the combination of the Damkholer number and the amplitude, frequency and phase angle of the oscillatory part of the acoustic flame temperature.
