Crystal structure and conducting properties of a SbF6 salt of BEDT-BDTBF
A single-crystalline electric conducting salt [BEDT-BDTBF](2)[SbF6][PhCl](0.5) was grown by electrochemical oxidation of BEDT-BDTBF in chlorobenzene. This salt showed a room temperature conductivity of 0.42 S cm(-1) along the stacking c-axis and semiconducting behavior with an activation energy of E-a = 0.183 eV. From X-ray crystal structure analysis and calculated band structure, it is revealed that the inter-column interaction p3 connecting the weakly dimerized donor columns plays an important role in the quasi one-dimensional band structure of this salt.
