Single crystal growth of incongruent intermetallic compound ZrCo2Si2 using W crucibles
Single crystals of incongruently melting intermetallic compound Zr(Co0.85Fe0.15)(2)Si-2 With the tetragonal ThCr2Si2 structure were grown from the liquid with composition of Zr-5(Co0.775Fe0.225)(16)Si-16 by the Bridgman method using W crucibles. Application of the microscopic techniques to the are-melted as-cast specimens turned out to be a useful tool for qualitative determination of the phase diagram.
