High-purity zirconium tetrafluoride (ZrF4) has been produced using sublimation and distillation techniques. The transition-metal impurities hake been determined in these purified samples, and it has been found that distillation is the preferred method of purification using a number of criteria. A detailed description of the apparatus used to produce this material is also given.
