Ternary adsorption equilibrium of H-2/CH4/C2H4 onto activated carbon
Adsorption equilibrium data for the pure component H-2, CH4, and C2H4, and their binary and ternary mixtures have been measured on activated carbon. The experimental measurements were done by a static method in the pressures up to 2 MPa at temperatures of 293.15, 303.15, and 313.15 K. Langmuir. Langmuir-Freundlich (L-F), and Flory-Huggins vacancy solution model (F-H VSM) were used to correlate the experimental pure component isotherm data. It was found that the L-F isotherm and F-H VSM show better fitting accuracy than the other isotherm models. Mixture adsorption equilibrium data on the activated carbon were predicted by the extended Langmuir, extended L-F, ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST), and vacancy solution model (VSM).
