New ceramic membranes designed for crossflow filtration enhancement
New geometry of ceramic tubular membranes were designed to overcome the important problem of fouling encountered in micro- and ultrafiltration, by promoting turbulence and particle draining close to the membrane surface. Microfiltration tests showed the efficiency of these new membranes and a hydrodynamic study was carried out to improve our knowledge on the antifouling phenomenon achieved with these membranes. The potential application of these new membranes for an industrial development was also investigated.
