Calculation of separation diagrams from ternary liquid adsorption on activated carbons
Separation diagrams have been calculated for two ternary liquid mixtures: n-hexane/n-octane/n-tetradecane as a model of an ideal adsorptive mixture and ethanol/n-octane/n-hexadecane as a model of a liquid mixture with one polar component, which exhibits a wide miscibility gap. The diagrams allow a discussion of the adsorption effects on the well-characterized TA 95 activated carbon, which represents surface and structural properties of typical microporous carbons.
