Solid-state H-2 NMR study of nanocrystal formation of D2O and their dynamic aspects in ACF hydrophobic nanospaces
Molecular motion of heavy water confined in activated carbon fiber (ACF) was investigated using solid-state (HNMR)-H-2. The (HNMR)-H-2 spectrum indicated that pi-flip motion as well as tetrahedral jump of D2O was active below 190K, suggesting the formation of nanocrystal of D2O in the ACF nanoslits.
