Using ring-closing hydrosilylation, trans- and cis-isomers of 2,5-dichrolo-1,4-phenylene-bridged macrocyclic polysilaalkanes were synthesized as molecular tops with a frame and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Dynamic (HNMR)-H-1 analysis for the cis-isomers in toluene-ds showed the internal rotation of the phenylene ring in solution.
