Lipase-catalyzed kinetic resolution of various 1-arylethanols was performed in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO(2)), in hexane and without solvent. The use of scCO(2) enhances reactivity especially when a cross-linked enzyme aggregate (CLEA) was used.
