Glycosylation using the trichloroacetimidate method was investigated in order to synthetize chacotriose. In a continuation of previous studies we present here a shorter approach to the synthesis of chacotriose, alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->4)]-D-gluc opyranose.
