Condensation of alpha-amino acid with amine in the absence of a coupling agent
Treatment of N-(4-nitrophenoxycarbonyl)amino acid with an equimolar amount of amine in the absence of a coupling agent gave the corresponding alpha-amino acid amide in high yield.
