Metal-ion induced intramolecular charge-transfer fluorescence of p-pentamethyldisilanylacetophenone
In the presence of Lu3+, and Sc3+ ions, p-pentamethyl-disilanylacetophenone shows dual fluorescence, characteristic of a phenylpentamethyldisilane with an electron-accepting substituent on benzene ring, where the wavelengths of the LE (locally excited) and ICT (intramolecular charge transfer) band maxima and their relative intensity are dependent on the metal ions.
