An 8-aminoquinoline-based Langmuir-Blodgett film sensor of Cu(II) ion
A new amphiphilic bis-amide tetradenate ligand, N,N'-bis(8-quinolinyl)dodecylpropanediamide, H(2)A, was prepared and formed monolayer. The interactions between H(2)A monolayers and metal ions (Mn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cn(2+), Zn2+, Mg2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+, and La3+) were investigated. Only Cu2+ ion showed special coordination with H(2)A. It was proved by means of XPS. The selective copper binder of the Langmuir-Blodgett film of H(2)A may be developed as a sensor of copper ion.
