Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of a Dawson trivanadium-substituted polyoxotungstate-supported {(Cp*Rh)(2)}(4+) complex; ((Bu4N)-N-n)(5)[(Cp*Rh)(2)P2W15V3O62]
A novel polyoxotungstate-based 2 : 1-type Cp*Rh2+ complex, ((Bu4N)-N-n)(5)[(Cp*Rh)(2)P2W15V3O62] (Cp* = C5Me5), was synthesized by a direct reaction of the Dawson trivanadium-substituted polyoxotungstate ((Bu4N)-N-n)(9)[alpha-1,2,3-P2W15V3O62] with an equimolar amount of [Cp*RhCl2](2) in ice-cooled CH2Cl2, without use of silver(I) salts to remove the chloride ions of the precursor.
