NMR line shapes of a gas of nuclear spin-1/2 molecules in fluctuating nano-containers
The NMR line shape of gases of spin - 1/2 carrying molecules in fluctuating nano-containers under the Gaussian stochastic dynamics and for the regular harmonic vibrations is calculated exactly. For large correlation times, cc, the overall line shape is shown to obey a logarithmic asymptotics, const x 1n(1/w), at low frequencies w and an exponentially decaying asymptotics in a high frequency domain. For small tau(c), the overall line shape has a bell-shaped profile with w(-4) far wing behaviour. A satellite structure of the NMR line shape of nano-bubbles subjected to the harmonic deformations due to the acoustic waves is calculated exactly. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
