Electronic excitation in amorphous solid ethylene at 19 K was studied by using electron energy loss spectroscopy. Some distinct transition peaks were observed in the spectrum taken at 200 eV primary energy and assigned to electronic transitions from valence to Rydberg levels. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
