Lateral diffusion of a transmembrane peptide in lipid bilayers studied by pulsed field gradient NMR in combination with magic angle sample spinning
This Letter reports studies of the lateral diffusion of the WALP16 peptide incorporated in phospholipid bilayers. Pulsed field gradient (PFG) NMR experiments in combination with Magic angle sample spinning (MAS) were performed to observe the diffusion of all membrane components. The observed spin-echo decays are described using a two-dimensional diffusion model that allows the calculation of the lateral diffusion coefficient of the peptide. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
