Electrochemical pulsed deposition of diamond-like films by powerful coulostatic discharge in dimethylsulfoxide solution of lithium acetylide
We have demonstrated the possibility of diamond-like carbon film deposition onto the stainless steel supports under the action of single powerful coulostatic anodic discharges generated by a capacitor battery (700 muF, 1200 V) in a dimethylsulfoxide solution of lithium acetylide. Raman spectra of the deposited films are characterized by two peaks centered at 1580 (G-peak) and 1429 cm(-1). From their analysis we have concluded that the films consist of a set of various carbon forms including more than 50% of sp(3) phase. The structure of the deposited films transformed significantly under thermal treatment at greater than or equal to300 degreesC. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
