Fluorescence of an electron donor-acceptor system in a polymer film under the simultaneous application of electric field and magnetic field
In an electron donor acceptor system composed of pyrene and N,N-dimethylaniline doped in a polymer film, electric-field-induced quenching of fluorescence becomes less efficient noticeably in the presence of a magnetic field both for exciplex fluorescence and for LE fluorescence emitted from the locally excited state of pyrene. It is suggested that fluorescent exciplex quenched by an electric field is formed via a dissociative radical-ion pair produced by applying an external electric field. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V.
