Chlorine chemistry is one of the main pillars of the German chemical industry. Conversion of chlorine chemistry should only be considered in cases of urgent ecological or toxicological necessity. However, there are no such reasons. In the Prognos Study, both the assessment of the ecological effects and the economic considerations are based on inadmissible approaches and on incomplete or erroneous, partly outdated literature data.
