SERS studies on tetrathiafulvalene, diphenyltetratbiafulene and octahydrodibenzotetrathiafulvalene
Strong FT-SERS signals are abserved for tetrathiafulvalene (TTF): 4,4'-diphenyl tetrathiafulvalene (DIPTTF) and 4,4',5,5',6,6',7,7'-octahydrodibenzotetrathiafulvalene (OHDBTTF) when odsorbed on chemically deposited silver films and excited with near infrared radiation. FT-SERS studies of TTF suggest that three kinds of concentration dependent species, viz. TTF0.0, TTF+0.5 and TTF+1.0 exist on the silver surface. The predominant neutral species (TTF0.0) at relatively high concentrations binds to the surface through the sulfur atoms. Derivatives of TTF also bind to the surface through the sulfur atoms, while only one kind of species exist on the surface.
