Monomeric, two-coordinate, univalent, aryl chromium(I) species [(3,5-Pr-i(2)-Ar*)Cr(L)] (L = THF, PMe3) have been synthesized with use of a very bulky terphenyl ligand which prevents Cr-Cr bond formation.
