The overcharge performances of lithium-ion polymer batteries (LIPB) have been studied by monitoring their temperature variation and analyzing the generated beat during overcharge. The critical concentration of lithium in the cathode material is determined for the thermal runaway of the battery. Solutions against the thermal runaway are proposed based on these results.
