We report immobilization of an enzyme by layer-by-layer (LbL) film deposition technique. All the enzyme layers, including the inner ones, contributed to the activity. We put-forwarded additional coating layers to protect the enzymes. To control the accessibility of the enzymes beneath the coating layer, pores have been introduced.
