Synthesis of fine powders of KTP-group compounds of stoichiometric composition
Precipitation of crystalline monophase nanopowders (50-100 nm in diameter) of stoichiometric binary orthophosphates of titanyl and alkaline metal in aqueous solutions has been studied. It has been shown that, in the formation of those powders, titanyl hydrophosphate can be used as a precursor. Rising temperature and alkaline ion concentration in the solution decrease the size of the powder grains, while elongating the exposure of the synthesized solid phase in the suspension increases grain sizes. An effective technique to synthesize fine-dispersed powders of monophase stoichiometric binary orthophosphates of titanyl and alkaline metal has been developed. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
