Overall rate constants for dilute spheroid dispersions
The overall rate constant of dilute dispersions of spheroids with a finite rate of incorporation at the spheroid surface is investigated. The overall rate constant normalized with the corresponding case of infinite incorporation rate is found to be a function of the aspect ratio of the spheroid and a dimensionless parameter, P, characterizing the relative time scales associated with the diffusive transport and surface incorporation processes. At large P, the normalized overall rate constant is found to be inversely proportional to P.
