Preparation and decomposition of C60H36
C60H36 was prepared by the Benkeser reaction with a much milder procedure. Thermal dehydrogenation of C60H36 with IrCl(CO)(PPh3)(2), Pd/C, and Ni-Al alloy and photochemical catalytic dehydrogenation with RhCl-(CO)(PPh3)(2) were studied. Pd/C catalyst was more effective for the thermal decomposition of C60H36 till now.
