Note on a paper by Laun: The squeeze force for a power law fluid
The squeeze force for a power law fluid with partial wall slip was first obtained by Laun [H.M. Laun, M. Rady, O. Hassager, Analytical solutions for squeeze flow with partial wall slip, J. Non-Newtonian Fluid Mech. 81 (1999) 1-15]. It is shown herein that a power law exponent n was missing in the relation between the radial stress and the axial stress (Laun's equation 50), which has a great effect on the squeeze force for the power law fluid, especially in the full lubrication limit.
