A Model for the Solubility of Light-Hydrocarbons in Water and Aqueous-Solutions of Alkanolamines
A model is presented for correlating the solubility of methane, ethane, and propane in pure water and aqueous solutions of alkanolamines. The model, which can be applied to both liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons, uses a form of Henry’s law for the aqueous phase and an equation of state for the non-aqueous phases. It is demonstrated that only a relatively simple modification of the pure water model is required to extend the model for the solubility of hydrocarbons in alkanolamine solutions.
