Sensitivity Analysis of the Methane Catalytic Combustion in a Sintered Metal Reactor with Integrated Heat-Exchanger
This paper studies the sensitivity behaviour of the sinter metal packed bed reactor for the methane catalytic combustion. The mathematical model of the reactor can be viewed as a conjugated Graetz problem. The reaction zone is described by the pseudo-homogeneous two-dimensional model with radial dispersion. The cooling media domains are modelled by the thermal linear boundary layer equation and an ODE The sensitivity criteria developed by Morbidelli and Varma (1988) and Vajda and Rabitz (1992) are tested. The boundaries of the sensitivity region in the spaces Y-A0-T-0,T-r and Y-A0-T-0a are reported.
