Development of a New Uniaxial Compression Test Method for paper Materials using Aluminum Honeycomb as a Lateral Supporter
E-mail:
A novel uniaxial compression test method for paper materials using aluminum honeycomb as a lateral supporter has been successfully developed. The aluminum honeycomb was employed to prevent local buckling of the paper specimen during uniaxial compression. Overall, good agreements exist between the theoretical and experimentally measured strain values obtained using this method. The newly designed uniaxial compression test method described in this report offers several advantages for tests on flexible and thin paper specimens. It is considered that the principle of the method can be used in a uniaxial compression test for any other thin material.
