Characterization of Growth-Behavior of Small Paracetamol Crystals Growth from Pure Solution
The industrial importance of crystalline particulates is well known. They are the end result of many unit operations. However, basic data about the physical nature of this varied class of materials is limited to producing a desired result in the product and this can cause problems for engineers attempting to design industrial crystallizers. Taking a common pharmaceutical, paracetamol, this study shows how basic growth conditions can be used to tailor some of the physical properties of the resulting particulate.
