Design of Optimal Thermally-Coupled Distillation Systems Using a Dynamic-Model
Thermally-coupled distillation sequences offer an option worth considering for separating ternary mixtures because of the energy savings associated with these systems. A model to design thermally-coupled distillation sequences that minimize energy consumption is reported. The model, developed in a dynamic framework, provides an efficient tool for design studies and can be used for further control studies.
