Hydrogen production by partial oxidation and reforming of DME
Hydrogen production by catalytic partial oxidation and reforming of DME was successfully carried out at an ambient pressure and 600750 degrees C. An H-2 yield of more than 90% was obtained with little methane production over Pt/Al2O3 and Ni-MgO combined catalysts. Ni-MgO was active for the reforming of DME as well as for the reforming Of CH4, which formed through a homogeneous reaction between DME and oxygen. The hybrid catalyst gave a better performance than the dual-bed ones. High temperature and high W/F were favorable to H-2 yield by improving the reforming reaction. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V.
