Move to environmentally acceptable products
The Oslo-Paris Commission (Osparcom) has implemented strict guidelines for the use and discharge of chemicals used in the North Sea. Ecotoxicity tests performed according to Osparcom guidelines, country-specific prescreening, and the chemical hazard and risk management (CHARM) model have a major effect on development of new products. When developing oilfield chemicals, both performance and environmental properties of a product must be studied.
