Design, implementation, and analysis of multilayer pressure-transient tests
The White Rose field is in the Jeanne d'Arc basin, approximately 350 km off the east coast of Newfoundland. Conventional drill-stem tests (DST's) were used with good results by testing separate layers by use of isolation packers. This method required significant rig time and cost. Conventional DST's were replaced with multilayer tests (MLT's) in the field for the last two wells drilled in 1999. MLT's saved approximately 32 days of rig time to test two wells compared with conventional DST's.
