Experimental determination of critical points of pure components and binary mixtures using a flow apparatus
In addition to phase equilibrium data, critical data provide important information for the description of the phase equilibrium behavior of multicomponent mixtures. In this study a new flow apparatus for the experimental determination of critical points is developed. It is applicable for pure components as well as for mixtures and can be operated at temperatures ranging from 280 to 470 K and at pressures up to 35 Mpa. Reliable critical lines of binary mixtures can be obtained within a short time.
