Energetics of the interaction of the antitumour agent titanocene dichloride with glycine: enthalpy of formation of [Ti(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)(OOCCH2NH3)(2)]Cl-2
The standard molar enthalpy of formation of [Ti(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)(OOCCH2NH3)(2)]Cl-2 in the crystalline state, at T = 298.15 K, was determined as Delta(f)H(m)degrees {[Ti(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)(OOCCH2NH3)(2)]Cl-2, cr} = -(1447.6 +/- 8.1) kJ(.)mol(-1), by reaction-solution calorimetry. A discussion of the energetics of the direct interaction of the antitumour agent Ti(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)Cl-2 with glycine is also presented. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
