In this note, we respond to the comments submitted by Zhang. In our opinion, we have responded to his objections in the explanation that follows. Zhang's counterexample did focus our attention on a modification needed to the definition and the proof of mesh stability. We believe that these modifications have made the exposition of material more lucid.
