Electrochemical Characteristics of Polypyrrole/Sulfonated-poly(styrene-co-butadiene) Composite Electrode for Polymer Battery
The conducting polymer composites (PPy/SBR, PPy/Li-SHSBR) were prepared to mix PPy and SBR or Li-SHSBR. Polypyrrole was polymerized using FeCl3 as a dopant and an initiator. Sulfonated-hydrogenated-lithiumated SBR (Li-SHSBR) as a rubbery polymer was prepared for conducting polymer composite. The electrode was made by hot press on Cu mesh after mixed conducting polymer composite and Super-P, and was examined electrochemical characteristics to penetrate to 1 M LiClO4 + PC. The discharge performance of the PPy/Li-SHSBR composite electrode was increased the extent of about 30 % compared to that of PPy/SBR. The reason is that the miscibility, contact area and affinity are facilitated owing to the effect of sulfonation.
