Study on a new type of HCI-removal agent for high-temperature cleaning of coal gas
A new sorbent, used to remove HCl from high-temperature coal gas, was made of a cheap natural mineral and alkali compounds. The sorbent has a high breakthrough chlorine content of 37.2% (under conditions of 923 K, 2500 h(-1) space velocity, and 1800 ppm HCl input concentration) and high mechanical strength. The effects of space velocity and temperature on the HCl-removal behavior of the sorbent were examined. Related mechanisms were examined, and it was determined that the adsorption process was influenced mainly by the chemical reaction from the kinetics.
