Clarification of amylase extract from moldy bran with Imarsil
A method for the clarification of enzyme extract from moldy bran with Imarsil, an inexpensive synthetic absorbent is described. At 1 % (w/v), Imarsil resulted in 91.2% clarity of broth with an increase in enzyme activity. It is effective at 4 and 28 C, no centrifugation is required and 90% of Imarsil is recovered after use.
