The effect of reoxidation time during the preparation of Ni-loaded CsLa2Ti2NbO10 on the photocatalytic hydrogen production in water decomposition reaction
The photocatalytic decomposition of water for H-2 evolution over 1 wt.% Ni/CsLa2Ti2NbO10 was investigated according to the reoxidation time during the preparation. The dependence of photocatalytic activity on the reoxidation time was examined by XRD, UV-Vis, TEM and TPR. With the increase in the reoxidation time, the H-2 evolution increased gradually. The maximum H-2 evolution (212 mumol/h g-cat) was observed when the catalyst was reoxidized at 200 degreesC for 2 h. It is because of the small particle size of 10nm and homogenous Ni/NiO distribution. The drastic decrease of photocatalytic activity for samples reoxidized for 4 h was due to the partial formation of NiO bulk phase and the growth of nickel particles. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
