Synthesis and characterization of sigma-pi conjugated poly(methylphenyldiethynylenesilane-co-methyltetraphenylphenylsilylene)
Diacetylenemethylphenylsilane (1) and di-chloromethyltetraphenylphenylsilane (2) were synthesized by the reactions of ethynylmagnesium bromide with dichloromethylphenylsilane and dichloromethylvinylsilane with tetraphenylcyclopentaclienone, respectively. The copolymers of 1 and 2 were obtained by sodium condensation reaction. They were characterized by FTIR,H-1- and C-13- NMR, and both UV and fluorescence spectroscopy. The molecular weights of polymers were determined by GPC relative to polystyrene standards. (C) 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
